Nic Forster

MANAGING DIRECTOR

I have spent over 20 years working in PR & communications. Prior to co-founding Thinking Hat, I was Global Head of PR at e-commerce scaleup notonthehighstreet.com & Head of Communications at BlackRock-backed venture capital fund, Forward Partners. 

What I do: I work on our agency’s growth both nationally and internationally, whilst also providing counsel on the communications strategy for global brands including Amazon, AWS & L’Oréal Group. I’m passionate about supporting the global tech ecosystem, its founders and senior leadership teams to deliver world-beating communications.

Superpower: Hailing from North Yorkshire originally, I can make a cup of tea disappear alarmingly fast.

MANAGING DIRECTOR

Background: As a former consumer PR and influencer marketing expert, I have spent the past decade building Thinking Hat into one of London’s best loved boutique communications agencies. Fuelled by a passion for people, culture, and purpose-led storytelling, I’m proud to have created an agency where diversity, authenticity, and entrepreneurial spirit power everything we do.

What I do: Passionate about people, I focus on creating a positive, empowering, and high-performance culture where every team member can thrive. Alongside leading our London HQ, I’m also spearheading Thinking Hat’s global expansion into the Middle East.

Superpower: The Energiser Bunny — I bring infectious energy, building strong, meaningful relationships that sit at the heart of our work in PR, content and brand building.

Danielle Zhu

Danielle Zhu

Head of PR

I kicked off my PR career in Sydney before swapping media lists for boarding passes as Emirates cabin crew, an adventure that fuelled my love of stories and sharpened my instinct for reading a room (or a cabin). Now grounded in London, I lead Thinking Hat’s PR team and help clients cut through the noise with smart, human-centred comms.

What I do: I shape strategy with impact in mind, always thinking about what makes a business feel human. Over the years, I’ve worked with all kinds of clients, from global blue-chip brands to ambitious startup founders and lean SMEs, which has given me a deep appreciation for the power of human-led storytelling that cuts across them all. Now, I use that experience to help businesses find their voice and use it meaningfully—whether that’s through a standout media moment, third-party advocacy programmes, or consistent knowledge sharing that builds trust over time.

Superpower: If I had a superhero persona, it would be The Libra—which happens to be my star sign. My superpower is leading with balance and intuition. I’ve often been told that I bring a calm, considered energy that helps everyone feel grounded, no matter how fast things are moving.

I love this quote because, like most things in life, including a good comms strategy, it’s not about perfection. It’s about knowing how to pivot, adapt, and keep things moving in the right direction.

I’m a digital marketing veteran and started out working in-house in luxury beauty over a decade ago. I soon jumped ship to agency side and built my expertise as a digital strategist in exciting start-ups and consultancies. I’ve always been a copywriter at heart with a healthy curiosity in mastering emerging online channels.

What I do: I’m the account director for our strategic content clients ranging from Amazon to TheFork (plus a handful of super interesting tech scaleups). I like to push innovation and creativity across the work we deliver, and I’m often plotting how to use emerging tech and channels for our business and clients.

Matt Fox

Head of Video Production

I spent 10 years producing television content for public and private broadcasters in Joburg before making the move to London, where I moved into PR.

What I do: I head up Video Production for our Studios department, and project manage uniquely creative or process-driven briefs. I advise clients and the rest of the Studios team on the best use of video to share important brand messages.

Superpower: Call me The Troubleshooter – for me, there’s no such thing as bad news for my projects, only opportunities to work magic.

Favourite quote: “Pain is temporary but film is forever”, my favourite quote from the film industry – a reminder to always be prepared on shoot days, and to go the extra mile to create great content that lasts.

I started my PR career out at a luxury watch brand before realising my skillset (and interests!) lay in the broader media landscape, settling in the tech space. I now have a decade of experience working in agencies across London, specialising in helping companies make their mark in the UK and beyond.

What I do: I’m a tech specialist. I enjoy getting to know the nuts and bolts of tech companies and their products, and understanding the vision behind start ups and scale ups. I love getting to know founders, and helping them tell their story.

Superpower: Variously called the morale compass of the company and the croissant connoisseur, I’ll take either!

I come from a broad B2B & B2C marketing background – but for the past 5 years, I’ve lived and breathed PR and content. I’ve spoken to hundreds of founders and landed stories in major titles like The Times, FT, Forbes, Fast Company and more. I’ve worked on high-impact projects like Sony Music’s $100m Social Justice Fund and supported global brands like Amazon.

What I do: I take a big-picture view – aligning PR with business goals to build integrated story-led campaigns that amplify a brand’s voice and drive meaningful impact.

Superpower: I’m a Creatigist – where bold ideas meet process and planning. I think like an artist but build like a strategist.

PR & Social Media Manager

I’ve built my career working across tech, lifestyle, and consumer brands, gaining experience in luxury, fintech, B2B, and robotics along the way. Before that, I worked as a celebrity publicist in the Middle East, where I learned to move fast and stay persistent under pressure. Born in New York, raised in Cairo, and a Londoner for the past 9+ years, I bring a global perspective and deep cultural understanding to everything I do. I speak more than one language, but PR is my true mother tongue.

What I do: I am equally at home managing media relations and running press offices as I am leading full-cycle social media content strategy and production. I specialise in storytelling that lands, whether that’s a powerful press release, a thought leadership piece, or a scroll-stopping Instagram reel. I step into my client’s world, find their voice, and turn their message into content that connects clearly and inspires creatively.

Superpower: They call me the ‘Coverage Machine’ because I don’t stop until I land the story !

I  began my career in the wild west of crypto PR and have since worked with clients across B2B, consumer, and professional services sectors. My experience spans sectors, audiences and everything in between, from scaling startups to supporting global giants like Amazon. I’m quick to grasp complex ideas and adept at transforming them into compelling, media-ready stories.

What I do: I specialise in thought leadership, executive profiling, and storytelling that actually resonates. I’m passionate about helping a brand find its voice and enabling leaders to communicate with authenticity and authority, whether that’s in a broadcast interview, bylined article, or on LinkedIn.

Superpower: I’ve often been told I’m a safe pair of hands, someone who remains cool, calm, and collected under pressure.

I began my career in political communications, but it wasn’t long before I found my stride in the corporate world at Amazon UK. There, I focused on reputation management and discovered a passion for building brand narratives, especially through owned channels. For the past two years, I’ve been part of the Strategic Content team at Thinking Hat Media, where I’ve sharpened both my creative and strategic skills, developing content and campaigns for clients ranging from nimble startups to household-name brands.

What I do: I create strategic, insight-led content for B2B clients. My work supports a wide range of business goals, from brand awareness to lead generation. I write across formats and channels, including blogs, case studies, social media posts, long-form editorial, ebooks, guides, and branded brochures. Whether it’s building thought leadership or refining a brand’s voice, I focus on content that is purposeful, engaging, and aligned with a broader strategy.

Superpower: I bring structure to creativity. I’m a strong writer and strategic thinker, but I’m also highly organised and reliable when it comes to managing deadlines, stakeholders, and moving parts.

Olivia Cox

Content Writer

I started my career as an in-house Copywriter in a B2B tech scale-up, and I’ve been building on that experience in an agency setting during my 18 months at Thinking Hat. I’m a passionate believer in the power of storytelling, and my time working in-house prepped me to become an expert in using words to make an impact.

What I do: I work within the Strategic Content team to serve a number of B2B clients, crafting and executing content strategies to help reach their business goals. From blogs and case studies to social media posts, you name it — I’ll write it!

Superpower: I’ve got my finger well and truly on the pulse of popular culture, and I love using my broader knowledge to influence my storytelling.
